Alex Rodriguez is being attacked
by the media for his admitted use of
steroids...Let's keep in mind his
admitted use of steroids was at
a time when there was no steroid
policy in major league baseball...
The test was supposed to be
confidential...and never released...
but "His" results, not the other
103 players, were leaked to the media...Of course the media…like
a dog to a bone…jumped on it...out of
all the players who've tested positively,
there have only been two or three that
the media have followed...Raphael
Palmeiro, Mark McGwire, Jason Gambia, and Roger Clemens...Barry
Bonds has never tested positively...
These were highly-paid players,
but they all had one thing in common
they were not liked by the media...The media has come down hard on all of these guys...and has been relentless
in the case of Rodriguez...Barry Bonds again has never tested positively for anything but a bad attitude...but has been treated like the Adolf Hitler of sports...envy and lazy reporting...the media feels they're being snubbed by many of these athletes...and whenever they get a chance to attack they do...it's much easier to write, do a T.V. show, or radio segment about a how bad these athletes are...
It's much tougher reporting on games, strategies, etc...etc...cause it
takes intelligence and work...
It is easy to attack Barry Bonds,
Alex Rodriguez, Roger Clemens, and Manny Ramirez...they don't speak to the press much and they make from 20 to 25 million dollars a year...
People, of course, are jealous...
Can steroids do you harm...yes...
if not taken under the supervision of a physician and logically...alcohol is much more dangerous...more people have been harmed by alcohol...anything done in excess can hurt you...Nicotine is un-healthy and addictive...Jose Caneso, Sly Stallone, Susan Sommers, and Arnold Schwarzenegger have all admitted to some form of steroid use...all in great health...all looking good...Jealousy, on all counts, when it comes to Rodriguez…rears its ugly head...His good looks, his ability on the playing field, and of course the money...He's admitted he took steroids, what more can he do...the majority of ballplayers who have taken steroids don't have A-Rod’s talent...of course everybody brings up Lyle Alzado... Oakland Raider lineman who died, not of steroid use but of a brain tumor...Alzado said he believed steroid use speeded up the brain tumor...but doctor after doctor said no...You can look at long-time steroid users, who you will find at the gym, and see how they look to their alcoholic friends and see who looks better...After all, would you rather look like Nick Nolte, Steven Adler, Jeff Conaway, Brian Wilson, or Keith Richards...Steroids can make you somewhat better...but you still have to put the work in at the gym, you still have to diet and it's obvious if you care about your performance...you can function on steroids...you indulge in
alcohol, nicotine, and other hard drugs…you can't function...Steroids like many things in life, should be your option...
