Yeah , yeah , yeah...

I can't believe it...Sonia Sotomayor is going to be a  Supreme Court Justice...

I'm so proud of her I could

spit...She's from my childhood

neighborhood of the South

Bronx...She went to Cardinal

Spellman High School...which

when I was in the South Bronx,

was an all-white, all-boys high

school...It was an un-written rule no minorities allowed...she was one of the first "Girls" allowed in...and, one of the first Latinas allowed in...

Since the middle and late 1970's

minorities have become

the majority at Cardinal Spellman...I grew up closer to

to Cardinal Spellmen's rival

Cardinal Hayes...But the odds of competing academically was

but a distance thought to me and many of my friends in the

60's and early 70's...just the

thought of someone coming from

where I came from and making

it academically…Princeton and Yale ... and flourish is almost beyond belief...

For all my friends on the "Right"

please realize this doesn't change the court...she's a

moderate liberal judge replacing

a moderate liberal judge ...

She's a Latina...yes, I know

Miguel Estrada had a tough time and didn't get confirmed...Sotomayor

was exposed to tremendous racism and is a product of affirmative action...her background has made her a stronger and a much more well-rounded person...being able to view

the world through many different eyes...

This is America's time to celebrate... celebrate America...

Celebrate inter-city youth...Minority Men and Women...
